Do I need a sailing licence?

For most charter companies, yes — an ICC (International Certificate of Competence) or equivalent. If you don't have one, you take a skipper. We help with both.

What if I get seasick?

Most people are fine after day two. We plan day one short and sheltered. Patches help; pharmacies stock them. If you're genuinely sick-prone, we choose a region and boat that minimises it (catamaran, Ionian).

Can children come?

Yes. See the family guide for the long answer. The short answer: any age can come, the route and boat have to match.

Question 4

Do we have to sail every day?

Accepted Answer

No. Many of our families spend a day or two at one anchorage. The boat is yours for the week. We plan flexible routes.

Question 5

Where do we sleep — only on the boat?

The boat is the bedroom. If you want a hotel night before or after, we'll suggest one. Mid-week hotel stops are unusual and add complication.

Can the route change once we've started?

Yes — and it usually does, based on wind. Your skipper or our advice covers this. The route is a plan, not a contract.

What if the weather is bad?

We move the route. Greek summer "bad" usually means strong wind, not rain. Calm bays are always reachable in the Ionian and Saronic.

What's included in the price?

The boat, basic equipment, insurance, dinghy and outboard. Not included: fuel, provisioning, end cleaning, port fees, skipper if hired. We itemise everything before you commit.

What's the deposit?

Usually 50% on booking, 50% six to eight weeks before departure. Separately there's a security deposit (€2,000–€4,000) blocked on a card at boarding and released on safe return.

What if we damage something?

Minor wear is normal and expected. Real damage is covered by insurance up to the security deposit. We don't recommend boats with hostile damage policies.

Can we cancel?

Yes, with terms. The closer to departure, the more is held. We always recommend travel insurance with charter cover; it costs little and changes everything.

Question 12

Do you take a fee from us?

Accepted Answer

No. We're paid by the charter operator when a booking goes through. You pay the same price you'd pay direct, except you have someone honest in the middle.
